An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
